Description
The Dender region is not only popular with cyclists, but also with walkers. This route takes you through the nature of the Gavers and Nuchten.
The Gavers
You start the route at recreation domain De Gavers. You can possibly eat and drink something here, so that you set off with sufficient energy. You walk the first part of the route along the banks of the Gaverplas. You walk along forest and reed collars, while looking out over the sparkling water. Further on you make a shortcut to the Dender. It is wonderfully quiet to walk along the banks of this river.
The Nights
Idegem is the first village on your route. You can see some old farms and chapels here. You then walk on a wooden path through the Nuchten, a swamp forest along the Dender. Make sure you have good walking shoes, the path can be wet! Furthermore, enjoy the beautiful nature! You cross the Dender one more time, after which you walk along the river for quite a while. Clear your head while looking out over the grasslands and the rippling water.

Take a trip through the beautiful nature reserves of East Flanders and then immediately plan a break at one of the many breweries that you will encounter here. Plan Bier takes you along the nicest breweries and regional beer cafes in the region of 's Waasland, Scheldeland and the Flemish Ardennes. That will be enjoyable!
