From Vierhouten you drive to the Vierhouter Bos. In this part of the Veluwe you will find plenty of variety. Because for centuries only the straight trunks were cleared for wood, the jagged oaks remained. You will also see majestic beech trees that are more than 200 years old. In the middle of the forest lies the Verscholen Dorp, a hiding place from 1943. From the Gortelse Berg you have a beautiful view over the quiet heath. Gortel is a beautiful hamlet with many well-preserved old farms. Take a break at Camping de Wildhoeve and have a cup of coffee at the associated Brasserie de Houtvesterij! In Vaassen you get off at IJssalon Rozeboom for an ice cream. In the vast forests of the Kroondomein you can then enjoy the silence.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
