Tour of Hoog Moersbergen and Doorn

This beautiful route takes you to the Zanderij Maarn. This sand excavation was closed in 2001, in the following years a beautiful untouched piece of nature was allowed to grow here. From the viewing platform you have a beautiful panorama of this area. In the middle is the Zwerfsteeneiland, a geological monument. Many hundreds of ancient boulders were found here during the excavations. Then you walk through Landgoed Stameren. Here you see a mixed forest with small heaths. A striking number of wild rhododendrons also grow here. In the adjacent Landgoed Hoog Moersbergen you can see a natural young forest of oaks and birches. It is wonderfully cool here on hot days under the canopy. Walking on the gently sloping paths you will experience a refreshing silence.
