Description
On the dike along the Markermeer you can get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the Dutch panoramas. You pass through two villages: Uitdam and Holysloot. Wear waterproof shoes!
Uitdammer Die
Walking along ditches, grasslands and reed collars you reach Uitdam. A small but beautiful village. Just before you walk out of Dorpsstraat, you will see a bell-shaped church on the left behind the green fence. Then you walk a few kilometers along the dike. What fresh air!
Holysloot
Walking through the meadows, it will take little effort for you to switch back. How wonderfully quiet it is under those high Dutch skies! After a while you will see Holysloot appear on the horizon. This picturesque village is somewhat isolated and therefore has many well-preserved old houses. At junction 22, walk to the left to take a look at the village church.
