From Valkenburg you can easily walk into sloped forests. Relax for a day in Limburg! You will also pass through the picturesque Geuldal. At Parkhotel Valkenburg you can grab a terrace so that you can hit the road with enough energy. You soon climb into the Biebosch, a beautiful forest where you mainly see oaks and beech trees. Many types of plants also grow there. From the forest you walk through the meadows, it is wonderfully quiet here in this tree-lined spot. You can also enjoy nature in the Sint-Jansbos and you will also pass some former marl quarries. You descend between the meadows to Taverne't Koetshoes. The fairytale castle originally dates from the twelfth century, but has been renovated several times. Back at Parkhotel Valkenburg you can continue to enjoy the Burgundian Limburg life.

Parkhotel Valkenburg is a special hotel. The building, designed in 1890 by architect Pierre Cuypers, has a rich history, is now a national monument and the oldest hotel in use in the Netherlands. All 82 rooms and the restaurant have been recently renovated and the hotel has a special atmosphere. Due to its beautiful location in the Heuvelland and close to Maastricht, it is the ideal base for beautiful cycling trips. Back at the hotel you can relax in the extensive wellness area. The kitchen is French oriented and when the weather is nice it is wonderful to relax on the terrace from all the impressions of the beautiful surroundings.
