STARTING PLACE:
Junction 71 is a great starting point. I could park my car there on the roadside, but it is also possible further away. Junction 40 has a small parking lot, although it is not much. Anyway: it is a quiet road with space on the shoulder to park the car.
DIRECTIONS:
Until junction 48 you walk on a quiet, asphalted, straight road between meadows. That's quite a nice warm-up, especially since the environment becomes a little more interesting from that moment on. From junction 13 you walk through the woods around the Goorven and later you walk to the Neterselse Heide, a popular walking area with the Flaestoren as an attraction. This is a very high observation tower with a view over Het Goorven, Utrecht Estate and of course Het Flaes itself. Although the photo (see PHOTO\\\'s) suggests otherwise, the tower was closed to the public on March 19, 2018. This did not stop a number of children from climbing over the fence (with the approval of their parents (!)) and to climb the tower. The last part is mainly heathland. When you leave the heath, it is only a little more than a kilometer before you - via a narrow path along a ditch - return to Junction 71. A varied walk, certainly one that I will do again in the summer.
SIGNAGE:
This one is actually always good. I think there was one place where a sign was missing, but you just have to keep walking there. Be careful when you leave the heath via the gate (between junctions 26 and 70). First you have to turn left, but a little further on you will come to a ditch. The positioning of the signs is confusing. However, on the right you will already see the campsite and perhaps even your car (I saw mine!), so you have to turn right here! Other than that it's all fine!
