Description
Rotterdam is easy to discover by bike. This route shows you the many beautiful highlights of the largest port city in the Netherlands. You also ride along the Rotte to the Rottemeren.
Rotte Lakes
At Zwaan Bikes Rotterdam you can rent a bike before you ride over the Weena. Here you will see some architectural highlights, such as the station and the 131 meter high Millennium Tower. Then you ride along the course of the meandering Rotte a bit into the polder. You will see some beautiful locks, farms and old mills, such as the Tweemanspolder no. 3 from 1792. Especially around the Rottemeren you will see a lot of natural beauty.
Maasboulevard
Then you drive along the Kralingse Plas. Here you see the only two snuff mills in the Netherlands: the Ster from 1866 and the Lelie from 1740. From the beautiful Kralingen you drive onto the Maasboulevard, you have a magnificent view here. At the Willemskade you can visit the Wereldmuseum Rotterdam, on the other side of the Maas are some iconic buildings on the Kop van Zuid. Along the Euromast and the Coolhaven you drive back to Zwaan Bikes Rotterdam.
