Cycling through a typical Dutch landscape

Along the Lek you cycle through a typical Dutch landscape of wide views, high skies and lots of water. You will also discover beautiful old towns such as Schoonhoven and Noordeloos.

Northless
Along the road you will see ditches, pollard willows and monumental old farms. Every now and then you have views of the Giessen, a peat river. What is immediately striking: the silence in this area! You pass through the picturesque Noordeloos, further on you pass through Meerkerk and Lexmond. At Ameide you cross the Lek with a ferry, nice and nostalgic!

Silver City
Cycling along the Lekdijk is beautiful. You look out over the babbling river and grassy floodplains, on the other side are beautiful farms, meadows and orchards. You will pass the Wielewaal Nature Museum, a nice stop off. The old center of Zilverstad Schoonhoven is a picture-perfect place, including the Veerpoort from 1601. On the Molenkade just below Groot-Ammers you will pass four polder mills; three date from the sixteenth century.
