Cycling through a typical Dutch landscape

Along the Lek you cycle through a typical Dutch landscape of wide views, high skies and lots of water. You will also discover beautiful old towns such as Schoonhoven and Noordeloos.

Northless
Along the way you will see ditches, pollard willows and monumental old farms. Occasionally you have views of the Giessen, a peat river. What immediately stands out: the silence in this area! You pass through the picturesque Noordeloos, further on you pass through Meerkerk and Lexmond. At Ameide you cross the Lek with a ferry, nice and nostalgic!

Silver City
It is wonderful to cycle on the Lekdijk. You look out over the rippling river and grassy floodplains, on the other side are beautiful farms, meadows and orchards. You will pass Nature Museum de Wielewaal, a nice stop. The old center of Zilverstad Schoonhoven is a picture, you can see the Veerpoort from 1601. On the Molenkade just below Groot-Ammers you will then pass four polder windmills; three still date from the sixteenth century.
