Cycling through a typical Dutch landscape

Along the Lek you cycle through a typical Dutch landscape of wide views, high skies and lots of water. You will also discover beautiful old towns such as Schoonhoven and Noordeloos.

Northless
Along the road you see ditches, pollard willows and monumental old farms. Every now and then you have views of the Giessen, a peat river. What immediately stands out: the silence in this area! You come through the picturesque Noordeloos, further on you come through Meerkerk and Lexmond. At Ameide you cross the Lek with a ferry, nice and nostalgic!

Silver City
It is beautiful to cycle along the Lekdijk. You look out over the rippling river and grassy floodplains, on the other side are beautiful farms, meadows and orchards. You pass Nature Museum de Wielewaal, a nice stop. The old centre of Zilverstad Schoonhoven is a picture, you see the Veerpoort from 1601. On the Molenkade just below Groot-Ammers you then pass four polder mills; three date back to the sixteenth century.
