Walking through the Wouwse Plantage

At't Appeltje you can enjoy a tasty meal at your leisure before you set off. From the terrace you walk onto the Lievensberg Estate. Initially you will see some beautiful beech avenues, a little later you will mainly walk between fragrant pine trees. You also walk across the 25 hectare heathland on the estate. You will have no trouble switching back in this beautiful and peaceful environment.

Just after junction 48 you walk onto the Wouwse Plantage. This extensive estate dates from the early sixteenth century. After peat was extracted here, trees were planted for timber production. The estate has only been open to the public since 1987! In the Desolate Area in the middle of the estate you will see an old forest of deciduous and coniferous trees. At the end of your route you can visit the Nature Podium Visitor Center.
