Description
In Drents-Friese Wold National Park, you will find plenty of variety. It is wonderful for a day of cycling. On the edges, you will pass through picturesque villages such as Appelscha and Diever.
The Drents-Friese Wold observation tower is not only one of the largest contiguous nature reserves in the Netherlands, but certainly also one of the quietest. Sometimes, all you hear here is the rustling of your trouser leg against your chain guard. On the Aekingerzand, you have beautiful panoramic views from the observation tower. Further on lies the Grenspoel, a fen on the border of Drenthe and Friesland.
Diever In the Drenthe countryside, you can still see beautiful old Saxon farmhouses. A little later, you drive through Diever. On the village green, you can see, among other things, the Schultehuis, dating from 1604. The house has been preserved in its original state. The Sint-Pancratius Church is considered one of the most beautiful churches in Drenthe. Finally, you drive through the Drents-Friese Wold again. Enjoy!
