What a discovery! You cycle right through the new nature of Plan Tureluur. Slot Haamstede and Slot Moermond provide a dash of history.
Plan Tureluur
The route starts at the edge of the Grevelingenmeer. You will immediately get into a holiday mood when you cycle along the water to Brouwershaven. Via a beautiful rural route you cross to the Oosterschelde National Park. At Moriaanshoofd you cycle along the Prunje, the oldest polder on the island. Thanks to the 'Plan Tureluur' the former swamp has been returned to nature and is now a true bird paradise. You can cycle through it beautifully.
Haamstede Castle
Then you cycle through Burgh, a village that originated around a ring fort that was built at the end of the ninth century against marauding Norsemen. In Haamstede, which has grown into Burgh, you will see some beautiful monuments, such as the old village church and the thirteenth-century Haamstede Castle.
