What a voyage of discovery! You cycle straight through the new nature of Plan Tureluur. Haamstede Castle and Moermond Castle provide a dash of history.
Plan Tureluur
The route starts at the edge of the Grevelingenmeer. You immediately get into a holiday mood when you cycle along the water to Brouwershaven. Via a beautiful rural route you cross to the Oosterschelde National Park. At Moriaanshoofd you drive along the Prunje, the oldest polder on the island. The former swamp has been returned to nature thanks to the 'Plan Tureluur' and is now a true bird paradise. You can cycle through it beautifully.
Haamstede Castle
Then you cycle through Burgh, a village that arose around a ring rampart that was erected at the end of the ninth century against raiding Normans. In Haamstede, which is attached to Burgh, you will see some beautiful monuments, such as the old village church and the thirteenth-century Haamstede Castle.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
