Description

Dordrecht is a beautiful old town, ideal to visit by bike. In the Alblasserwaard you can enjoy the peace and space, but also the world famous Kinderdijk mills.

Landgoed Dordwijk You drive over car-free dikes between the grasslands and fields. Get your legs moving while enjoying the vast landscape. In the middle of the city you drive past Landgoed Dordwijk that was built around 1635. With the water bus you cross the Beneden-Merwede.

Alblasserwaard Via Papendrecht you drive into the Alblasserwaard. You pass through the picturesque Oud-Alblas, further on you see the Kinderdijkse Mills appear on the horizon. They were built in the eighteenth century to improve the drainage of the Alblasserwaard. Since 1997 the mills have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Back in the Dordrecht harbour you see, among other things, the Grote Kerk with its leaning tower. In the Prinsenstraat you see many old buildings. What a nice atmosphere!
