Polder mills
Three picturesque villages where you will immediately see many beautiful monumental buildings while riding your legs, such as the Town Hall from 1613 in Graft. On the right is the Eilandspolder, an ancient swampy peat area where cows graze on the neatly divided fields. You pass the Menningweermolen, a thatched polder mill from 1888. Further on is the Poldermolen M from 1635.
Beemster
Just before Rustenburg you see three beautiful old ironing mills appear on the horizon. The Beemsterpolder is veined with ditches, canals and channels to regulate the water level. Not only the polder, but also the Beemster villages breathe history. Such as Middenbeemster, the oldest village in this polder where you can admire many monumental buildings. Just outside the village is De Nachtegaal, a beautiful flour mill from 1704.
