Explore the northern Veluwe and a bit of Flevoland with this fun, varied route. You will also discover Elburg, Zwaluwenburg Estate and the Dutch Artillery Museum.
Veluwe edge spring
The route starts at Pancake restaurant De Ossenstal, where you enjoy a cup of coffee on the natural terrace. You drive through the young coniferous forest of Eperholt to the artists' village of Nunspeet. Then you cross the Veluwemeer with the Veluwerandveer (May to the end of September). You drive over the dike along the water towards Elburg, back on the Veluwe. Cycle into the fortified town here to soak up the atmosphere and sit on a terrace!
Zwaluwenburg estate
Continue via Landgoed Zwaluwenburg. You will also find the gardens of A. Vogel here, which can be visited: so take a break again! Just before the end of the route you will pass the Dutch Artillery Museum. Here you will learn more about the age-old Horse Artillery Corps, or the Yellow Riders: the oldest part of the Army. There are all kinds of historical documents, military attributes and much more to view.
