Description
Just below Tilburg lies the extensive Gorp en Roovert estate. An ideal nature reserve to explore on foot. Put on your walking shoes and experience the silence!
Bankven
The route starts at Uitspanning & Camping Breehees. You will soon pass the Bankven, an idyllic spot. You walk through a mosaic of fields, grasslands and forests towards the border with Belgium. The closer you approach this border, the quieter it becomes. It will not surprise you that there was a lot of smuggling here until the 1960s!
Paradise Bridge
In the hamlet of Gorp you pass a number of beautiful monumental farms. You will also pass the nineteenth-century hunting lodge that the then landlord built here. At junction 92 you cross the Rovertse Leij via the Paradijsbrug. You actually feel like you are in paradise here, what a beautiful place! You walk back through the fields to Uitspanning & Camping Breehees. Time for a terrace!
