Description

With this route you will experience a beautiful cycling day in the Land van Maas en Waal. You start in Winssen, where you will see a medieval church tower. In the countryside it is wonderfully quiet to cycle on car-free roads. From junction 89 you drive past the Bergharens Bos, which is located on an old river dune. Further on you cycle onto the dike along the Maas. Here you have a beautiful view of the floodplains and the rippling river water. In Appeltern you pass two churches in quick succession: the small Hall Church from 1858 and the St. Servatius Church from 1907. You drive past De Gouden Ham, a recreational lake. On the Bovendijk you will see a monumental dike warehouse and the corn mill of Maasbommel from 1871 on the right. Via Druten you cycle along the Waal back to De Arend.
