Walking through Ootmarsum and surroundings

From Oud-Ootmarsum you walk over the rolling es to Ootmarsum. In this atmospheric village you see many beautiful buildings and you can visit a number of nice museums, before you make another loop through the Twente countryside.

Twente silence
First you walk up the slightly undulating Oud-Ootmarsummer es. You see meadows and fields here, but also small plots of forest, hedgerows and stream valleys. Walking over an unpaved path you experience the typical Twente silence here. It will not cost you any effort to switch back here!

Open Air Museum Ootmarsum
After a while you walk into Ootmarsum. You pass the park Engels Tuin, further on you pass the Molen van Oude Hengel from 1872. The Open Air Museum Ootmarsum takes you back to the Twente of the past. In a park-like environment you see 18 authentic buildings here. The center of Ootmarsum has managed to preserve many of its historical buildings, what a nice atmosphere!
