Walking through Ootmarsum and surroundings

From Oud-Ootmarsum you walk over the rolling ash trees to Ootmarsum. In this attractive village you will see many beautiful buildings and you can visit a number of nice museums, before you make another loop through the Twente countryside.

Twente silence
First you walk up the gently sloping Oud-Ootmarsummer es. Here you will see meadows and fields, but also small plots of forest, hedgerows and stream valleys. Walking along an unpaved path you will experience the typical Twente silence. You will have no trouble switching back here!

Open-air museum Ootmarsum
After a while you walk into Ootmarsum. You pass the English Garden park, further on you pass the Oude Hengel Mill from 1872. The Ootmarsum Open Air Museum takes you to the Twente of the past. Here you will see 18 authentic buildings in a park-like setting. The center of Ootmarsum has managed to preserve many of its historic buildings, what a nice atmosphere!
