Walking through the polder at Castricum

This walk takes you through the polders east of Castricum. Ideal to relax for a while. First you walk through the Willem de Rijke Park. Further on you walk through a green area and past a leafy sports park. On the Uitgeesterweg you can get a breath of fresh air, while on the horizon you can see the clouds brushing past the treetops. On the outskirts of Uitgeest you pass Poldermolen De Dog, which was built in 1896. The windmill you see on the horizon is called De Kat. On a quiet road you walk past flowery meadows towards Castricum. Just before the junction you will see the Cronenburg manor farm on the left. Here stood a castle that was destroyed in 1537 during the Eighty Years' War. At Snackbistro de Toren you can enjoy a tasty snack.
