Description
The Rovertse Heide and Landgoed de Utrecht are wonderful walking areas. With this route you will discover something special along the way: a work of art in a fen!
Rovertse Heide
First you head towards the Rovertse Heide, a wet heathland, which was declared a Natura 2000 area due to the humidity and the presence of the floating water plantain. With this route you will discover the beautiful varied forests along the edge of the heath, which are also more than worth it.
Andreas Schotel
Then you walk along the northern edge of Landgoed de Utrecht. You pass the fen De Broekeling, where you see a beautiful sculpture:'Baather in Broekeling\\\'. This classic work was made by Esbeek artist Hannes Verhoeven. The work was made after a sketch by the Rotterdam artist Andreas Schotel who spent a large part of his life in Esbeek.
