Walking on Landgoed Wallsteijn

The old Landgoed Wallsteijn is located on the edge of Achtmaal. A beautiful place for a surprising walk.

Kerkepad
From't Pannehûske you walk into the forest. Occasionally you have beautiful views of the small meadows and fields that have traditionally been here. At the three-fork with the Witte Brugstraat you see a dead straight watercourse: it is an ancient peat canal. You then walk onto a footpath that used to be part of the Kerkepad to Achtmaal. The artist couple Roland Holst used this path to do their shopping and collect mail.

Yacht turret
You walk on a low-traffic road through the outskirts of Achtmaal with its meadows and tree nurseries. After a while you walk into a hall forest. The straight trunks and the closed forest canopy make it seem as if you are walking through a large hall with columns. How wonderfully quiet it is here! Here you see a hunting dome from 1800 that was originally intended as a resting place for hunting groups. Time for a terrace at't Pannehûske.
