The Tea Factory is a former church from 1862 and adjacent parsonage. It houses a tea museum, shop and restaurant with terrace. From here you first walk a bit through Houwerzijl, a beautiful village with characteristic houses. On the footpath you walk between the meadows to Niekerk. The original thirteenth-century church was built on a mound. Further on you walk on a car-free road through the vast landscape that Groningen is known for. Get some fresh air while enjoying the silence. You cross the Hunsingo Canal via Zuidema\\\'s klap, a monumental drawbridge from 1879. Further on you see another monument on the Hunsingo Canal: the Hunsingo Lock and the associated simple wooden lock master's house date from 1859. Via the Spookbos you walk a bit along the Rietdiep, after which you return towards the Tea Factory.
