The Maasduinen National Park is best explored on foot. Put on your sturdy shoes for a beautiful and varied walk through two areas of this national park.
Bleijenbeek Estate
You walk through a coniferous forest created at the end of the nineteenth century. Occasionally the forests are broken by meadows and fields. In the middle of the area you pass through the Duvelskuul, a heathland area. Here are some fens that originated in extinct bowls of the river dune. What a beautiful place!
Watchtower
At Boscafé Het Rimpelt you can regain strength with a meal before you start the second loop of your route. You walk past the Nooit Gedacht, a flour mill from 1958. Then you can fully enjoy nature again in the Broedersbos. You walk over rolling river dunes between coniferous and deciduous trees and along the tranquil Esven. There is a twelve-metre high lookout tower on the heath: what a panorama!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
