It is nice to walk through the polder in the Lisse area. You will also pass through the Keukenhofbosch, a special nature reserve that will become part of the newly planned Hollandse Duinen National Park.
Wide Aa
You walk straight into the Lisserpoelpolder. You walk through the meadow along a winding watercourse with reed collars. You will see the Zemelmolen from 2003, which replaced the original eighteenth-century Zemelmolen that burned down in 1999. In Lisse you walk through a few leafy streets with beautiful old buildings.
Keukenhofbosch
The Keukenhofbosch was once part of the old estate. You can still see this in the wide avenues and old, thick trees. It is surprisingly peaceful here to walk among the beech, oak and coniferous trees. If you look at the treetops, you have a good chance of seeing one of the long-eared owls that sit quietly here during the day, looking ahead. The Keukenhofbosch is located on one of the few remaining beach walls in the Bulb Region.
