Walking through the outskirts of Tilburg

From the Tilburgse Wandelbos you can make a nice trip through the countryside. You walk through forests, through an estate and the stream valley of the Oude Leij.

Walking forest
From the Wandelbos you walk into a forest plot along the Reeshofdijk. Scots pine mainly grows here, but also American oak and beech. From junction 65 you walk through the woods and through the stream valley of the Oude Leij. A beautiful spot with special flora, wide views and lots of peace.

Old Warande
A little further on you walk into the woods of De Blaak. A beautiful nature reserve where pedunculate oak, American oak and beech dominate the picture. From junction 71 you walk a bit on the Bels Lijntje, a cycle path on the former railway line between Tilburg and Turnhout. The cycle path is alternately bordered by forest and farmland. You will also pass the Oude Warande, built in 1712, one of the few well-preserved star forests in the Netherlands.
