The Reestdal, a real hiking paradise

The Reestdal is a real hiking gem. You will find plenty of peace and space in this stunning old cultural landscape. You also walk a bit through IJhorst and the adjacent forest. It is nice to walk here undisturbed, ideal for a quick downshift. On the edge of IJhorst you seem to walk back in time when you pass some monumental old farms. The village church dates from 1823 and has a wooden bell tower. The footpath then leads you into the Reestdal. This winding river forms the border between Overijssel and Drenthe for several tens of kilometers.
