Walking through Oostvoorne and Voornes Dune

The charm of Oostvoorne can be discovered well with a walk. In the countryside you walk through the beautiful Voornes Duin.

From Eetcafé Centraal Oostvoorne you walk towards the beautiful fifteenth-century village church, the tower dates back to 1300. The leafy Dorpsplein is also nice to see, the house with the veranda on the upper floor even reminds you of New Orleans. On the right of the Hoflaan is a beautiful old building. Behind it lies the restored ruin of the medieval Jacobaburcht, the country residence of Jacoba van Beieren.

Voorne's Dune
A little later you will enter Voornes Duin. This nature reserve is one of the most species-rich dune areas in Western Europe. You will find dunes, flowery dune grasslands, moist valleys and dune forests. You will experience a surprising amount of peace here, despite the fact that Voorne is located within the proverbial smoke of Rotterdam. Take a quick look at the native park at the Tenellaplas Visitor Centre: you will find all the biotopes from Voornes Duin together there. At Eetcafé Centraal Oostvoorne you can end this beautiful walk with something tasty.
