Description
In the Groene Hart you can take a bike ride past lakes and windmills. In this vast landscape you experience the freedom of a beautiful day out.
Braassemermeer
You cycle along the Wijde Aa, an ancient peat stream that further on connects to the Paddegat and the Braassemermeer. Get off here to enjoy the silence and the rippling water on a bench. Further on you pass the Westeinderplassen and through Aalsmeer. At the Historical Garden you will learn more about the history of flower growing.
Black Rider
In the small-scale Oosteinderpoel nature reserve you will see primeval forests and hay meadows, a remnant of the landscape before the reclamation. Here is the Zwarte Ruiter, a former flour mill from 1778 that is now inhabited. You drive to Woubrugge via the Langeraarse Plassen. You can visit the Museum of Hemessen here at regular intervals. At Hoogmade you will pass two polder mills: the Vlietmolen and Hoogmadese Molen.
