Description
Hoorn and Enkhuizen are two historic towns that you must see once. They are within cycling distance of each other, ideal to combine with a trip along the Markermeer and through the polders. From Europarcs Resort Markermeer in Bovenkarspel you drive over the Zuiderdijk along the banks of the Markermeer. Enjoy the views while cycling with your hair in the wind. A wonderful way to clear your head! After this you arrive in Hoorn, where you can admire many characteristic buildings. A nice stop off is the Museum Van de Twentieth Century. Further on you drive through nature reserve De Weelen. Here you can see how West Friesland looked before the reclamation. The last stop is Enkhuizen, where you pass three of the old city gates.
