Description
Around the Vecht lakes you can easily spend a whole day on your bike. You will find plenty of natural beauty and picturesque towns full of Dutch cultural history.
Loenersloot Castle
From the Ouderkerkerplas you quickly enter Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. Here you will find a beautiful piece of Dutch cultural history on the water, what a nice village! You drive through the polders over a winding dike. Grassy meadows full of cows, rippling water: you drive through a real Dutch decor here. In Baambrugge and Loenersloot you see beautiful monumental buildings, you also pass the thirteenth-century Loenersloot Castle.
Spanderswoud
Over the dike you drive through the Loosdrechtse Plassen. Get some fresh air, while you look out over the water. Oud-Loosdrecht is the next gem on your route, you see many centuries-old farms here. After the vastness around the Vechtplassen you are presented with the forests of the Spanderswoud: also beautiful! And quiet!
