Walking at Wintelre

Come take a walk at Wintelre, one of the Eight Beatitudes in North Brabant. In the town itself you will experience a friendly atmosphere. In the countryside you will find plenty of natural beauty.

Belly heath
From the Farm Terrace and viewing stable Hoeve De Nachtegaal you first walk to Wintelre. Here you will see, among other things, the St. Willibrordus Church, which has been extensively renovated over time. You will also pass some characteristic regional farms. After walking for a while through the small-scale agricultural landscape, you walk into the forests of Buikheide. You will mainly find coniferous trees here, but also mature American oaks. And a wonderfully refreshing rest!

Grootmeer and Kleinmeer
There are two natural fens in the forests: the Grootmeer and Kleinmeer. Thanks to their special flora, they are considered a protected natural monument. There is a lookout tower at the Grootmeer, which gives you a beautiful view of the surroundings. At De Nachtegaal you can take a break to recuperate, before taking a tour on unpaved paths and low-traffic paths between the fields and along the forest edge of the Oostelbeerse Heide. The route ends with a cozy terrace at De Nachtegaal.
