Your cycling route starts with a cup of coffee at Hotel Het Witte Veen. During this route you cycle through Dwingerveld National Park, the largest wet heathland area in Europe. In this National Park you can enjoy an endless, undisturbed horizon. There are more than sixty fens and peat bogs in the Dwingelderveld. This peat is home to special plants and animals, such as peat moss, cranberry, cranberry and lavender heather. In the southeastern corner of the park you will discover the Kraloerheide, which is also a gem on this route. This area gives a good impression of the old Drenthe esdorp landscape. Be sure to take a look at the Bird Watching Hut. Back you drive through the Museum Village Orvelte, a lively village full of historic buildings and old streets where history comes to life.
