Cycling through the woods near Bergen op Zoom

This route offers you plenty of peace, space and nature. You drive through the ancient forests of the Wouwse Plantage. Further on you cycle through the Zoomland Estate. This was once a large swamp, now it is a damp forest. You can get off at Boerderij Den Hof for a pit stop. Fort De Roovere is a fort that was built in 1628 on a sand ridge. In Wouw, the former building of Brouwerij De Ster is located on the Markt. A little further on you can admire the centuries-old St. Lambertus Church, built in Kempen Gothic. Just after Essen you drive through the Wildertse Duintjes, a relief-rich and varied forest with open spaces and heath remnants. Further afield you can visit the Bakkersmolen museum complex and the Steam and Bakery Museum. You cycle the last kilometers through the Kalmthoutse Heide.
