Cycling through the forests near Bergen op Zoom

This route offers you plenty of peace, space and nature. You cycle through the ancient forests of the Wouwse Plantage. Further on you cycle through the Zoomland estate. This used to be a large swamp, now there is a damp forest. At Boerderij Den Hof you can get off for a pit stop. Fort De Roovere is a redoubt that was built in 1628 on a sand ridge. In Wouw, the former building of Brouwerij De Ster is located on the Markt. A little further on you can admire the ancient Sint-Lambertuskerk, built in Kempen Gothic style. Just after Essen you cycle through the Wildertse Duintjes, a relief-rich and varied forest with open spaces and heathland remnants. Further on you can visit the museum complex Bakkersmolen and Stoom- en Bakkerijmuseum. The last kilometers you cycle through the Kalmthoutse Heide.
