Walking route: Lourdes cave Noordeinde near Zevenhoven

The walking route leads you further along vast fields, streams and ponds in the rural Green Heart of the Netherlands. Along the way you will discover another special spiritual place.

Dutch Fens
The Hollandse Venen, a sub-area of National Landscape Het Groene Hart, has numerous peat rivers. You can discover it with this beautiful walking route that mainly takes you along the water. Are you walking here between April and June? Then you can enjoy the beautifully colored bulb fields on the surrounding farmlands.

Bulb fields
You walk through a typical Dutch landscape of ditches and meadows. You will make a special discovery in the small town of Noordeinde near Zevenhoven. Behind the Johannes Geboorte church there is a Lourdes grotto of up to six meters high, built with rough boulders from the Belgian Ardennes. In the rocks stands an almost life-size white statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, a copy of the statue in Lourdes, France, more than a century old.
