The Alblasserwaard is a beautiful, authentic, water-rich landscape. You will discover special nature and nice villages, such as Wijngaarden.

Alblasserbos
Your route starts with a cup of coffee at De Krom Cozy food and drinks. Today you walk through the Alblasserwaard, a wonderfully green area of windmills, vast meadows with grazing cows and beautiful bosoms and ditches overgrown with reeds and cattails. In this vast polder landscape you can experience the long history that Holland has with the water. At Streeknatuurcentrum Alblasserwaard you can learn everything about what the Nature and Bird Watch does here in the Alblasserbos.

Vineyards
From the entrance of the Alblasserbos you walk to the elongated village of Wijngaarden. This beautiful town is located in the middle of an authentic rural environment. Pollard willows, ditches, old farms and farmer's gardens give Wijngaarden a very Dutch look. You will also find a beautifully refurbished NHKerk. The Oudheidkamer Wijngaarden is worth a visit, it is managed by the Historical Association Binnenwaard. Back at your starting point, feast on eel caught and smoked by the owner himself!
