This loop around the Staffelsee, one of the warmest lakes in Bavaria with its seven islands, is a classic among the hiking trails in the Blue Land. Although you need some fitness for this route of more than 20 km, it is very beautiful with all the views over the lake and the pre-Alps.
On to the Obersee
You start your hike at the Staffelsee open-air swimming pool in Murnau and from here follow the forest path along the southern shore of the lake. After about 6 km you come to the so-called Obersee, which stands out for its marshy landscape. Rare animal and plant species can be viewed in this nature reserve.
Return by motorboat or on foot?
After 13 km you arrive in Uffing. There you can take a motorboat back to the starting point if you are too tired for the rest of the route from Gasthof Alpenblick. You can also take a rest in the Biergarten right on the water and then continue your tour. The tour then continues through Uffing, via a plateau to Rieden and from there on to Seehausen. You will eventually return to the starting point.
