Ruurlo, Borculo and National Landscape Graafschap

It is wonderful to tour the Achterhoek scenic landscape. You will discover nice places, beautiful monuments and a picturesque National Landscape around the village of Barchem.

Ruurlo
Here you drive through a backdrop of old ash trees, meadows and hedgerows. Get off in Ruurlo, a pleasant town with a beautiful historic center. Here you will see, among other things, the fourteenth-century Village Church. Also further afield, on the quay in Borculo, you can see some beautiful monuments. Such as the Stone Table, a water mill from the eighteenth century.

Old Schipbeek
Further on you cross the Oude Schipbeek, a side stream of the IJssel. You can fully enjoy the rural beauty here. You cycle a long way along the Twentekanaal and then continue to Barchem. Surrounding the village is the picturesque Graafschap National Landscape with its fairytale vistas, green meadows and dense forests. The hills you see on the right are the fifty-meter-high Lochemse Berg and Kale Berg, which are part of the same moraine.
