The starting point of this cycle route is in De Rijp, but you can start this route at any point along the route. This village is full of beautifully restored houses dating back to the 17th century. From here you cycle past the Theetuin Spierenburgh to Schermerhorn. Fancy a cup of coffee or tea with cake? Then take a break here. In Schermerhorn you can view the Church of Schermerhorn while cycling. In Grootschermer, the next village on your route, you can then view the Town Hall Grootschermer and you can visit the Museum and Sculpture Garden Nic Jonk. You will also find the Café-Restaurant Het Genot van Grootschermer here.

On the road to De Rijp
The last part of the route takes you from Grootschermer to Driehuizen, West-Graftijk, East-Graftdijk and Spijkerboor. You eventually end up on the edge of De Rijp. There you can end the day with a snack and a drink at Bij Ernst.

Drymaker de Schermer
On the way from Driehuizen to West-Graftdijk you will pass the Droogmakerij de Schermer. This area is a good example of the many lake areas that were pumped dry in North Holland in the 17th century. This polder was drained between 1633 and 1635. Enjoy the view over the flat area here.
