Historical discoveries on the Veluwe

Enjoy a delightful tour through the Veluwe forests, passing by special historical spots. How beautiful the Netherlands is! You start in Vierhouten. Stop along the way at Cafe Restaurant Joris! You will ride through the dense forests of the Veluwe. With a bit of luck, you might even see a roe deer dart into the woods! In the Tongerense Heide area, you can fully enjoy the forest, heath, and small lakes. Just above Vierhouten, you pass the Monument to the Shot Jews at the Hidden Village, a hiding place for Jews during the Second World War. Dozens of Jews were hidden here in small huts—some of which have been reconstructed—but the village was eventually discovered. An impressive place to take a moment to visit before cycling back to your starting point.
