Walk to the Diepmeerven

The Diepmeerven is a separate nature reserve in a remote part of the Groote Heide. Ideal if you want to leave the hustle and bustle behind. Put on your walking shoes and come and enjoy nature.

Terrace
On a leafy road you first walk through Heezerenbosch, a hamlet where you see some beautiful long-gabled farms. You also have beautiful vistas over the fields. Then you walk into the woods. You mainly see pine, oak and birch here. On warm days it is nice and cool under the trees. It's always quiet!

Deep Lakes
You walk a bit on the former route of the railway line between Geldrop and Valkenswaard. You will then pass a few fens that are part of the Diepmeerven nature reserve. First you pass the Witven, further on are the Diepe Meerven and the Drooge Meerven. During a warm period, the fens sometimes dry up because they are not that deep. You walk through the heathland around the fens. What a beautiful place!
