Description
The valley of the Loobeek is a beautifully restored stream valley that is worth exploring. This route runs in a figure of eight: so you immediately have an address for lunch!
Loobeek
Merselo is a Limburg esdorp on the edge of the Peel. From here you immediately walk into the Loobeekdal with its flowery grasslands. You follow the course of the Loobeek a long way. The stream valley has been redesigned in recent years, so that nature has a chance again.
Never thought
It's time for the second part of the route, through a completely different landscape: you walk here through an offshoot of the Vliegveld forests, with many Scots pines. Just before the end of the route you will pass the Nooit Gedacht windmill from 1867. This flour mill can be seen grinding again after an extensive restoration and can often be seen in action - you can also buy flour such as apple pie mix.
