Wilpse Clay
The route starts at De Kribbe. eat. drink. enjoy. Grab a seat on a nice terrace before you get on your bike. You immediately cycle through the old farmland of the Wilpse Klei. A quiet floodplain landscape where you can still see old farms that are situated on mounds. Further on you cycle through the forests at the Bussloo recreation area. The lake was created as a sand excavation during the construction of the A1.
The Forest House
Just before Apeldoorn you drive through Het Woudhuis. This seventeenth-century estate has remained well intact and offers you a unique view of history. In Apeldoorn you can enjoy the cosiness and beautiful monumental buildings. You also pass through the beautiful Mheenpark, where no fewer than twenty-seven species of trees grow. In Twello you pass Het Holthuis, a rectangular country house. The Bolswerkmolen is a sawmill from 1863. From the dike you have a beautiful view of the IJssel and the floodplains.
