Castle route from Grubbenvorst

First an ice cream at ice cream parlor Clevers Grubbenvorst and then you put on your walking shoes. The ferry across the Maas immediately puts you in a holiday mood! At Arcen you walk right past the Castle Gardens, it is worth taking a look around here - also because of the castle itself. Then you cross the Maas again with a ferry. Around Lottum you can enjoy fields full of fragrant roses in early summer. You will also pass through the Kaldenbroek nature reserve, an old Meuse arm with poplar forests, a marsh forest, and moist grasslands. Kaldenbroek Castle forms the center. The small-scale landscape - managed by Het Limburgs Landschap - is beautiful to see, a look back in time. Just before Grubbenvorst you will see Huis De Steeg, a mansion from 1750.
