The Star of Dwingeloo route Blue lake

This route is part of the Ster van Dwingeloo: a multi-day walking package that takes you through the idyllic surroundings of Dwingeloo. On this route you walk through the fields to the Leggelderveld nature reserve. From B&B De Ster van Dwingeloo you can walk across the Brink. Here you will see several nineteenth-century farms, the former schultehuis and the beautiful fifteenth-century St. Nicholas Church. What a beautiful atmosphere! You then walk along car-free roads between vast fields and meadows. Just before you cross the Dwingelderstroom, you will see a boulder on your left that serves as a monument to a crashed American bomber. On the right is a rough piece of land with a fish pond. The Leggelderveld may not be well known, but that does not make it any less beautiful. In this nature reserve you will find a mix of forest, dry and wet heathland and barren grasslands.
