Description
Beautiful walking tour from Riel to Hilvarenbeek. First with the local bus from the Vrijthof in Hilvarenbeek to the Dorpsstraat in Riel. Then you immediately walk into the Leij valley. The Leij valley is one of the most beautiful stream valleys in Brabant. The route takes a trip across the Regte Heide and then ends up at the Ooijevaarsnest estate. Through a varied forest area you reach the valley of the Poppelse Leij. Coffee and apple pie are ready at the Nieuwkerk monastery. You are now halfway through the journey.
Via the Govertse Leij nature gate you reach the Gorp en Rovert estate. The country house and farms have been located in this beautiful green area for centuries. You walk to Hilvarenbeek via the Loo. You can see the striking tower of St. Peter's Church from far away. The Vrijthof of Hilvarenbeek is perhaps the most beautiful village square in Brabant with delicious restaurants........
