Vennenfietstocht Oisterwijk

This scenic route leads you through some of the most beautiful nature reserves of the National Landscape Het Groene Woud, as the area between Tilburg, Eindhoven, and Den Bosch is known. Through the trees, you can spot the fens after which this nature reserve—the Oisterwijk forests and fens—is named. You drive across the vast heathlands of the Kampina. Just after crossing the Essche Stroom, you pass the fourteenth-century Nemerlaer Castle. A little later, you drive into Oisterwijk, which was granted city rights as early as the thirteenth century. Its rich history is still reflected in the monumental buildings, particularly on De Lind, the old market square with the status of a protected townscape. Back at your starting point, you can wander through the visitor center, located in the same building!
