Description
Your route starts at Restaurant Speijck. In the Oisterwijkse Bossen you will find a lush and wild nature. The dozens of mysterious fens give you the feeling of being far away from civilization. You will pass the Van Escheven, Witven and the Voorste and Achterste Goorven (\\\'goor\\\' means swamp). This was once a vast heathland. From the beginning of 1800, many hectares were planted with Scots pines for mining and shipbuilding. Thanks to the management of Natuurmonumenten, the forest has become much more varied. And you will not only see this, you will also hear it while walking, because many woodpeckers have settled in the forest. On the rugged banks you will regularly find a bench to enjoy the silence or take a photo.
