Description
Between IJssel and Veluwezoom you will discover a beautiful rural area where many old country houses can be found. A wonderful region for a nice bike ride!
Historic country houses
This route starts in Eerbeek, on the Veluwezoom. From here you cycle to the IJssel, the mighty river with its beautiful wide landscapes. You will pass Huis te Eerbeek, which originally dates back to the fourteenth century. The history of the nearby Korenmolen dates back to 1395. Further on you cycle past Huis te Empe, a country house from 1550 that now houses homes. It is a nice spot, complete with turret.
Veluwe moraine
Nearby you pass the Voorster Beek. Along the way you will encounter many streams, old river basins of the IJssel, but also water that finds its way down from the higher forests. The Veluwe moraine is a few meters high! Via the hamlet of Klein Amsterdam you cycle back to Eerbeek, through the rural area that is so typical of this region.
