Description
Along the northern edge of the green and rolling Veluwe you will discover special places: from a hiding place to an artists' village and from a farm museum to a tea garden with very special types of tea.
Artists' village Nunspeet
The landscape here offers a picturesque mix of meadows, hedgerows and old farms. It is not without reason that several painters around Nunspeet recorded farm life at the end of the nineteenth century.
Hidden Village
Just above Vierhouten you can turn right at junction 18 to take a look at the Hidden Village: a secret hiding village that was founded in the woods in the spring of 1943. About eighty refugees were hidden in this village for more than a year. Ultimately things went wrong... Three huts have been recreated, and some remains of the original huts can still be found. You cycle back to Nunspeet via the De Bovenstreek Farm Museum.
