The Utrecht estate and the Flaestoren

A beautiful discovery tour from an old inn. From a lookout tower you can see a wide nature area of forests, fens and heathland.

The route starts at Herberg"In den Bockenreyder\\\". At this 90-year-old inn, you can sit inside by a cozy fire. When the weather is nice, you can sit on the terrace with a view of the old farm. You will soon walk to the Flaestoren, a 24-meter-high lookout tower between the Flaes and the Goorven. From here, you have a beautiful view of Landgoed de Utrecht and the fens. You can view these vulnerable nature reserves very well.

Heathland fens
Landgoed de Utrecht was once a vast heathland of which now about 400 hectares remain. A large part of the estate is planted with Scots pines and Douglas firs. In this quiet and vast area you really feel like you are in no man's land. You can also walk along the Neterselse Heide. This nature reserve is also very varied and has more to offer than just heathland, fens, stream valleys, forests and rivers.
